How it Works

TechOnline does not need to come out on site to install software or to carry out the comprehensive audit of your computer(s). Instead of costly site visits, TechOnline uses the latest in remote computer management technology. The TechOnline virtual system administrator utilises an agent installed on your computer, which is in effect your “on-site virtual technician” that looks after your computer in the same way as a real on-site technician would.

Once you have signed-up as a TechOnline subscriber, you will be contacted about the set-up of the TechOnline agent on your computer(s) – usually within 1 business day.

With the TechOnline agent installed, the first step is to carry out a comprehensive software, hardware and security audit (excluding PC*Backup).

For PC*Ensure subscribers, this audit forms the basis of the Computer Health Report, which provides you with a comprehensive assessment of your computer's health including details of actions taken by TechOnline to improve the security and overall health of of your computer. (The Health Report is an option for PC*Secure subcribers.)

TechOnline then installs and configures its standard software and sets up your computer, including:

  • bringing your computer up to date with the latest Microsoft Windows updates
  • scanning and cleaning-up any spyware or viruses
  • work with you to identify your important files for backup
  • undertake initial backup.

In general, all of the TechOnline automated processes, including backup, are scheduled between the hours of 10 pm and 7 am.

The service is now enabled - and you can now focus your time and effort on growing your business.

It’s that simple. Sleep easy, every night - knowing you business is safe.
